How It Works

Many students who look unmotivated are actually overwhelmed, anxious, or have stopped believing the work matters. We start with a low-stakes conversation: what's hard, what's not, what would they change if they could. Listening first.

From there we build small wins. Tiny commitments the student keeps to themselves. Each success becomes evidence that effort moves the needle. The framework is grounded in established SEL research, but the application is whatever the student needs week to week.

Over time the conversation shifts from "I can't" to "I'm working on it" to "I have a plan." Academics often follow on their own. When they don't, the motivation work makes any academic tutoring it pairs with finally land.
